1. Punch in/out at a workplace

  • Recording punch in/out time is only possible on Shopl App - Employee mode. (Not available on PC dashboard)
  1. At [Employee Mode] > [Home] tab, click [Punch in] / [Punch out] button.
  2. Scan the QRcode located at your workplace.
  3. Take a photo of your face with the front camera.
  4. Check 'Punch in/out card' before exiting from the app.

2. Punch in/out from temporary workplaces (unregistered workplace)

Feature Introduction

You can manage employees who commute to and from unregistered workplaces (temporary workplaces) such as external meetings and remote work.

  • Workplace: The workplace registered on the dashboard by the company.
  • Temporary Workplace: Refers to the location where punch-in is done when it is not the workplace.

Allow punch in/out at temporary workplaces (Admin setting)

  • This setting is only accessible with Admin user account.
  1. PC Dashboard : Go to menu [Feature settings > Attendance]
  2. Change the Attendance's subfeature 'Allow punch in/out from any places' function to 'Use'
  3. Select employees to use this feature.
  4. Enter reasons for employees to select when they punch in. This options will be provided to employees when they punch in/out from unregistered places as a selection.

Punch-in/out at temporary workplaces (App / Employee mode)

  1. Click Punch-in (Punch-out · Return · Arrive) on Mobile App (Employee mode).
  2. Select 'Punch in from current location.' If you are within the GPS punch-in range of registered workplaces nearby, you may be punched into the registered workplace. If you need to add a new temporary workplace, refer to Add/Edit temporary workplaces on App (App / Employee mode)
  3. Add a temporary workplace as your new punch-in location.
  4. Select "Save this place and reasons" if you want to save this location. Once it is saved, you do not need to register again next time you visit.

When there are multiple workplaces/temporary workplaces nearby (App / Employee mode)

  1. When there are several workplaces and/or temporary workplaces nearby, the system will show the list.
  2. You can select one of them, or register a new temporary workplace.

Add/Edit temporary workplaces on App (App / Employee mode)

  1. At Employee Mode > Menu tab, select 'Temporary workplace' list.
  2. Add new (a) : You can add new temporary workplaces.
  3. Edit existing list (b) : You can select existing temporary workplace to edit or delete. Even if you delete a temporary workplace from the list, punch-in/out record won't be affected.

3. Location Error - Cannot find a registered workplace nearby?

Request to modify workplace location on app

If the registered workplace location differs from what you know of, you can request to modify the information based on the correct address & latitude and longitude on map.

Once approved by the leader/administrator, you will be able to punch-in/out from the correct location. In case the request is rejected, please contact the system admin in your organization.

Refresh GPS Accuracy on app

If the location on the map differs from your current location, it's likely due to weak GPS signals or errors. Refresh the current location on the app with refresh button. Once you confirm the location is accurate, try to punch-in again.

Shopl guide for Leaders/Admins

Approve/Reject workplace location request

  • Admins/Leaders can review and approve/reject workplace location modifications from the [Approval > Workplace Location] page on the dashboard or in the app's leader mode. After approval, employees can clock in and out from the requested location.
  • When reviewing approval, you can compare the stored workplace information with the employee's request. Check whether submitted workplace photos have been taken from the workplace.

Mobile device setting guide - iOS/Android

In some cases, location error can happen due to the mobile device settings. Here's a guide for iOS/Android users.

Both iOS / Android Users:

  • TURN ON wifi on your mobile phone, and/or connect to a specific wifi.This will allow your mobile device to update the current location based on wifi information.
  • Refresh the current location on a map application (google, apple, etc.).

For iOS Users: How to share your specific location

  • Go to Settings > Shopl App > Location
  • Turn on "Precise Location."

For Android Users: How to improve location accuracy settings

  • Go to Settings > Location
  • Click on Location services
    • Turn ON 'Wi-Fi scanning' / Turn ON 'Bluetooth scanning'
    • Turn ON 'Google Location Accuacy' / 'Google Location Sharing'

FAQ 1. How can I turn off QRcode scanner?

When punching in from temporary workplaces, you need to turn off QR code scanner.

FAQ 2. What happens if I'm late for work?

Submit reasons for anormalities (lateness, early leave, etc.) before recording the time if you're punching in/out out of your scheduled working hours. Submitted reasons will be sent to the admin.

FAQ 3. I tried to punch-in but Shopl says I'm not scheduled to work today. What should I do?

If 'Not scheduled to work today' appear, check your schedule and make necessary changes if needed. When  [Allow punch in only on the days scheduled as work] function is in use, you cannot punch-in with schedules other than 'work'.

FAQ 4. There's no QRcode where I work. How can I turn off QRcode scanner?

📌Please contact admin to check your workplace punch-in method.

When there's no QRcode at your workplace, you can turn off QRcode scanner from the punch-in card. Not all workplaces use QRcode to punchin, and some are allowed to use GPS location only. Also, if you're punching in from temporary workplaces, you need to turn off QRcode scanner.

FAQ 5. What happens if there are multiple workplaces nearby my current location?

You will be given a list of nearby workplaces to choose from. If you do not see your workplace from the list, please contact the admin.
